Meet ‘Datu Wapuu’

WordCamp Cebu 2023 is almost upon us and we’re excited to feature a new Wapuu to the mix! Say hello to Datu Wapuu!

Each WordCamp has its own mascot. At #WordCampCebu2023, we are proud to announce that ‘Datu Wappu’ is our official Wapuu.

ABOUT ‘DATU WAPUU’

Datu Wapuu is inspired by Lapu-lapu, the brave hero of 1521 when Spain invaded our country. This mascot carries a Kampilan (sword) that ‘killed’ Magellan during the invasion and a Kalasag (shield), a wooden shield used by pre-colonial Filipinos.

Datu Wapuu is a datu, a title that denotes the rulers of indigenous people in the Philippines.

No Credit Card or PayPal Account to Buy Tickets?

Having trouble in purchasing your WordCamp Cebu 2023 tickets?

You’ll need a Paypal account or credit card to purchase tickets but if you don’t have one of those, you have an option to use GrabPay Card and Maya Virtual Card. These virtual cards act like credit cards where you can shop online at any Mastercard-approved merchants.

Recommended Places To Stay During WordCamp 2023
