What are WordCamps?
WordCamps are volunteer-run conferences centered around WordPress, the free and open-source software, powering more than 30% of the internet and more than 75 million websites around the world.
Since 2006, WordPress community members have held a total of 1,100+ WordCamps in 375+ cities, 65 countries, and 6 continents.
WordCamps are attended by designers, developers, business owners, bloggers, copywriters, consultants, hobbyists, employees who use WordPress as part of their job, and anyone else who uses WordPress in any way. Attendees range from the novice who is brand new to WordPress, to the savvy WordPress power user, to advanced designers and developers who make their living with WordPress.
First WordCamp in Cebu
The first ever WordCamp in Cebu was held in 2019 at the Bayfront Hotel Cebu, Cebu City. Over 200 participants attended the first ever WordPress conference in Cebu with speakers coming from differents parts of the globe.
WordCamp Cebu, as well as all other WordCamps, is volunteer-run. Organizers and speakers don’t get paid. Ticket sales help pay for the cost of the event but the bulk of the funding is provided by our generous sponsors.
