About WordCamps

WordCamps are volunteer-run conferences centered around WordPress, the free and open-source software, powering more than 34% of all the websites on the internet and more than 75 million websites around the world.

The first WordCamp was organized in San Francisco, USA by Matt Mullenweg in 2006, and since then local communities around the world have organized hundreds of others.

Cebu hosted its first ever WordCamp in March 2019 and it was sold out. We were expecting 250 participants but due to insistent demand, we had to stretch it to 280. With that success, Cebu will be hosting another WordCamp on February 29, 2020, at Bai Hotel Cebu, Mandaue City.

WordCamp Cebu, as well as all other WordCamps, is volunteer-run. Organizers and speakers don’t get paid. Ticket sales help pay for the cost of the event but the bulk of the funding is provided by our generous sponsors.

WordCamps are attended by designers, developers, business owners, bloggers, copywriters, consultants, hobbyists, employees who use WordPress as part of their job, and anyone else who uses WordPress in any way. Attendees range from the novice who is brand new to WordPress, to the savvy WordPress power user, to advanced designers and developers who make their living with WordPress.
