Track 1: “My First Website” – Build It, Own It, Love It!
Ever heard your kids say, “I wish I had my own website!”? Well, now they can! Yvonne Palanca-Lumagod, a super friendly Support Engineer at Yoast, will guide them through the exciting world of website creation. They’ll learn how to:
- Build their very own website using WordPress – no coding needed, we promise!
- Pick a cool theme that shows off their personality (unicorns, superheroes, you name it!)
- Create their first webpage and share their awesome ideas with the world
Track 2: Navigating the WordPress Dashboard for Kids
Think WordPress is too complicated for kids? Think again! Ritchel Lauron, also a Support Engineer at Yoast, will show your kids that the WordPress dashboard isn’t so scary after all. They’ll learn how to:
- Navigate the dashboard like a pro – it’s way easier than you think!
- Create and manage pages and posts, building a website that’s all their own
- Add images, videos, and other media to their website, making it fun and interactive

Ritchel Lauron is a Support Engineer at Yoast B.V., dedicated to providing excellent support and solutions to customer issues. Before joining Yoast, she spent years working in the web hosting industry, initially in technical support and then as a Technical Support Supervisor. Her 14-year background in web hosting has been instrumental in honing her skills and expertise.
Ritchel’s journey with WordPress began when she used it primarily for troubleshooting customer issues, which sparked a deep interest in the platform and its community. Upon joining Yoast, her passion for WordPress and its vibrant community was further ignited. Since then, she has been actively involved in the WordPress ecosystem, participating in meetups and WordCamps, and volunteering at WordCamp Asia and local WordCamps. Her experiences with WordPress continue to inspire her professional endeavors and have significantly influenced her career.
In addition to her professional work, Ritchel is passionate about educating high school students. She has delivered presentations at local community outreach events on topics such as web hosting, WordPress, and SEO fundamentals. FAQs
Do I have to stay with my child?
No. Parents/Guardians do not need to be present with their child(ren) throughout KidsCamp. Leave the kids to us so you can network and enjoy the sessions at WordCamp Cebu 2024.
Do I need to bring a laptop?
Yes, we do not provide laptops. Tablets can also work although they are slower for many young ones (and adults) to type on.
What ages are appropriate?
A: We recommend ages start at 7 (in order to participate, children should be able to read and write for the best experience for all attendees depending on your child) and onward up to 15 and above.
Is Snacks included?
Yes. Morning snacks are included for all the kids.
